BTW, don't believe what the other publishers are saying. Pom Pom Palace is the best book series. As promised, here is Chapter 1 of Pom Pom Palace!
Book 1: Here Comes the Bride
Chapter 1: Who’s the Lucky Girl?
“I’m sorry, Your Majesty, but your daughter Wormelia cannot be my wife.” This was an example of the dialogue that the great king, Pom Pom the Magnificent, had to have with over 3 dozen royal hounds. That day, Pom Pom was to be found a wife to help rule his kingdom of Woofenbark. His closest advisor, Corgi, recommended that at the age of 22, he should get married soon. “Next!” exclaimed Corgi, sending away Wormelia and her father. “Presenting to his Canineness, Pom Pom, the fair lady Shihtzua!” announced Corgi. In walked the most beautiful she-dog that Pom Pom had ever seen. Her fur was so soft and flowing, and she walked in with an apparent air of confidence. Pom Pom was immediately in love. “Shihtzua is from the kingdom of Ivanatreèt, one of our closest trade partners when talking about agriculture. She has aged 20, and I believe she is the best match for you and the greatest good for the kingdom.” As Corgi stated these facts, Pom Pom didn’t hear a word he said, as he was lost staring into Shihtzua’s deep green eyes. “Uh-huh,” was the only response Pom Pom could muster. “Yes, it would be very nice if wife could be my Shihtzua, I mean Shihtzua could be my wife!” Pom Pom stuttered. At this Shihtzua giggled. “Pom Pom, you are so funny! See you later!” she said with a wink. She strutted off with the same confidence she entered with. “Wow,” breathed Pom Pom. “That is one hot dog.”
That night, Shihtzua and Pom Pom sat at the long dining room table to have their first date. There were lots of aged cheeses, fruits, soups, salads, and to top it all off was a huge kidney pie laden with a multitude of assorted dog treats. “You know you really outdid yourself, Pom Pom,” Shihtzua proclaimed as she took another sip of her 20-year-old wine. “I grew up eating nothing but kibble for all three meals.” Pom Pom almost spit out his wine. “Only three meals! Here we have at least five meals a day; breakfast, tea, lunch, supper, and dinner. And on special occasions, like the wedding tomorrow, we add a feast!” Shihtzua looked astonished. She couldn’t imagine how fat some of the residents would be. Noticing her queer expression, Pom Pom explained. “Here, everyone works hard every day. It’s the only way we can even have those many meals!” Pom Pom laughed. “Don’t worry. I think you’ll like it just fine once you get used to it.”
Just as they were finishing up the kidney pie, Corgi entered. “Shihtzua,” he proclaimed, “how would you like to meet some of the other residents of the castle?”
See you next week for Chapter 2!
Best of luck on your upcoming math test,
